Raise a Glass: Tūn Wins Four Great Taste Awards

There are good days at a brewery, and then there are days when four of your beers receive one of the food and drink world’s most respected seals of approval.

We’re delighted to share that Tūn Brewing Co. has picked up four accolades at the Great Taste Awards 2026, with Archetype leading the charge on two stars and Gem State of Mind, Quaternity and Lemondrop each earning one star. That is four different beers, four reasons to celebrate and one very proud team here in Manchester.

Archetype Earns Two Stars

The biggest cheer goes to Archetype, our Modern English IPA, which received a brilliant two-star Great Taste award.

A two-star result means the judges considered it “outstanding,” which is no small compliment when your beer is being assessed alongside thousands of food and drink products from around the world. The official Guild of Fine Food directory now lists Archetype among its recognised award-winning products.

Archetype has always been a beer we’re especially proud of. It brings together the character of a modern IPA with the balance and drinkability that keep you coming back for another sip. Seeing that work recognised by an independent judging panel feels incredibly special.

Two stars look pretty good on it, too.

Three More Beers Join the Celebration

Archetype did not have to celebrate alone.

Gem State of Mind, Quaternity and Lemondrop each received a one-star Great Taste award, recognising them as “simply delicious”.

For us, that spread of awards means a lot. These beers have their own identities, styles and personalities, yet each one managed to make a memorable impression during judging.

Gem State of Mind brings the bold, juicy energy. Quaternity offers its own carefully crafted drinking experience, while Lemondrop delivers the kind of bright, refreshing character that makes reaching for another can dangerously easy.

Seeing all three awarded alongside Archetype is a lovely reminder that there is more than one route to making a great beer. Sometimes it is bold and expressive. Sometimes it is crisp and clean. The important bit is making something people genuinely enjoy drinking.

Why Great Taste Matters

Great Taste is organised by the Guild of Fine Food and is considered the world’s largest and most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme. Products are assessed by a panel of more than 500 experts, including chefs, buyers, retailers and food writers.

The judging is also carried out blind. That means the people tasting the beer are focused on what is in the glass rather than the brewery name, the can design or the story behind it.

More than 15,000 products entered the 2026 awards, with just over 41% receiving any star rating. Against that level of competition, taking home four awards feels even sweeter.

For beer drinkers, the Great Taste logo offers a quick, independent sign that something delicious is waiting inside. For a small brewery, it provides encouragement that all the recipe development, testing, tasting and occasional late night has been worthwhile.

Coming Soon to a Can Near You

The winning star ratings have now been approved for use across the relevant product packaging and marketing materials.

So, before long, you will start spotting those Great Taste stars on cans of Archetype, Gem State of Mind, Quaternity and Lemondrop.

We’ll try not to show them off too much. No promises, though.

Here’s to the Next Round

Four beers, five stars and a huge moment for everyone involved in making, supporting and drinking Tūn beer.

We’re proud, grateful and more excited than ever about what comes next. Which of our Great Taste winners will you be raising a glass of first?
